About Northbrook Marketplace
On a beautiful country road in the rolling hills of Chester County and the Brandywine River Valley you can discover Northbrook MarketPlace. Family owned and operated, the market operates in a beautifully restored 1850’s fieldstone barn.
In June 2008 Northbrook MarketPlace was aquired by two culinarty proffesionals: Rob and Christine Boone. They will continue the legacy of the market and have added a culinary touch that only a group with their caliber can bring to the table.
Northbrook MarketPlace is now open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are also offering a B.Y.O.B. Chef’s Table that is available Tuesday thru Saturday evenings for groups up to 22 people.
Since the age of seven Rob Boone has dreamed of being a chef. His career began in 1991 at Steven Wades’ Café in New Berlin,WI. During his days off from the café he would go and volunteer his time at Carlos’ Restaurant in Highland Park. It was there that he was able to learn to ropes until he was able to convince Charlie Trotter he had the desire and talent that was needed to become a chef. He spent the next three years learning with Chef Trotter and then relocated to work with one of Charlie’s great friends Norman Van Aken in Coral Gables, FL, where Chef Rob worked his way up from the grill chef position to perfecting Norman’s new world cuisine and later becoming his Chef de Cuisine. Five years and countless dishes later, Chef Rob moved to operating the Asian concept restaurant Bambú located in South Miami Beach. When developing a new menu concept Chef Rob completely explores the cuisine of choice by immersing himself in its culture, food and people.
His travels through Europe and Asia have allowed him the opportunity to express those travels through cuisine. These travels also lead to him being rated by Conde Nast Travel as one of their top Chefs in 2004. Through is hard work and determination he was able to work his way up to where he is today. At a very young age it became his dream to own his own restaurant, all the steps and choices he has made in his carrier have lead him to this point, of being in this business and owning his own restaurant. He has a real passion for cuisine and makes it his top priority that everyone who comes to his restaurant has a truly great culinary experience be it four star cuisine or handcrafted BBQ. Raised by the side of her Master Chef father, Christine Boone learned at an early age the idiosyncrasies of this unique business. Working in exclusive private clubs and a boutique style hotel has allowed her to be influential in the decision making process in operating departments (ie. Sales & Marketing, Food & Beverage). She is a true asset to the team and will help market the restaurant and drive sales with her dedication and passion for this business.
